Annual First Aid Refresher
Half day course (3 hours)
The government requires that all employers ensure trained first aiders maintain their skills and competency levels over the three years duration of their certification. It’s recommended by The Health and Safety Executive that first aiders complete a refresher session at least every year and this can happen at any point between gaining your original qualification and requalifying again after three years.

Course duration and location
The course lasts half a day (three hours) and takes place in a suitable space in your workplace – such as a meeting room, empty office or quiet area.
Certification
This course is aimed at refreshing trained first aiders skills and maintaing their competence, which doesn't require any additional certification.
Annual First Aid Refresher course content
The course's main focus is CPR and AED training.
Topics covered
1 Assessing an emergency situation.
2 Giving first aid to an unconscious casualty - including CPR and AED use.
3 Giving first aid to a casualty that is externally bleeding.
4 Giving first aid to a casualty in shock.
5 Giving first aid for seizures and other minor injuries.
